Beefs Up Search Capabilities and More
CarMax, the nation’s largest used car retailer
(publicly traded:NYSE:KMX) has dramatically increased search
capabilities on its website: carmax.com. Car buyers can narrow
their search by price, mileage, type, popular features and other
options as specific as a third row of seats.
The company has always offered search by brand,
model, locations and other factors, but this new web tool makes the
specifics more accessible and the search more direct.
In other news, the company also announced an
increase in searches for hybrid vehicles including the For Escape
Hybrid, Toyota Prius and Toyota Camry Hybrid. From October to
November of 2007, searches for these high-mileage specialties have
increased by 43%, and, for the year, hybrid searches have accounted
for 10% of vehicle searches on the carmax website.
